Summer Mixer for Evidence Dance Company at NYC Gallery
Monday, June 25, 2012 — Last Thursday, I attended a private soiree and conversation on the arts, patronage, and preservation of culture. Held at the Merton D. Simpson Gallery in Manhattan, “Come + Behold” attracted a bevy of fashionistas, artists, and corporate types with an affinity for the arts.
While meeting new people and learning more about the mission of Evidence Dance Company (based in Brooklyn), guests could view the tribal and contemporary African art on display. The private reception was in advance of the summer celebration which will honor the legendary actress Ruby Dee and jazz musician Jason Moran.
Naturally, I couldn’t resist taking a few style shots lol. One of my favorite looks was donned by Michelle Wonsley, Managing Director of Evidence Dance Co., in a block color shift dress.
