NYFW Exclusive Interview: Erika Packard, Model of the Month!

Monday, September 17, 2012 — While attending Nolcha Fashion Week shows last week (an organization dedicated to showcasing independent fashion designers), I had the honor of meeting and interviewing the lovely Erika Packard, who was named Model of the Month by the Fashion Model Directory.

Erika is from India and is represented by Anima Creative Management based out of Mumbai, India. Her mother is Indian and her father is English, and that is where she gets her unique and beautiful features. Erika started modeling two years ago at the age of 21. This year is her first year walking in NYFW. For Nolcha, she walked for Adolfo Sanchez, Mariana Valentina, Angelys Balek, and Pamela Gonzales. Those are just a few of the shows she has been in. Erika told me she would be walking in two more shows on Thursday. Busy girl. I asked Erika what her favorite show has been so far and she told me about an Assembly showed she walked in about a year ago. “There was a live band and beautiful clothes. It was lovely.” 

The Fashion Model Directory dubbed Erika model of the month for September. After Erika’s debut at Fashion Week and the title of model of the month, I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of the Indian beauty. Hopefully, on the runway wearing Roberto Cavalli, who Erika said she would love to walk for someday.
